2026 Capacity Building programme on Digital and open Government in Indonesia

The Public Management Policy Centre of the OECD Korea Policy Centre, in collaboration with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform of Indonesia (PANRB), the OECD Public Governance Directorate, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of Korea (MOIS), successfully hosted the "Capacity Building Program for Indonesian Public Officials" from May 18 (Mon) to 19 (Tue), 2026, at Le Meridien Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Under the theme of "Government Unstuck: Designing Better Public Services," the program focused on three key administrative pillars: innovation, digital government, and open government. Throughout the two-day event, eight specialized sessions and workshops addressed critical policy agendas such as digital public infrastructure and government data integration. In addition, practical case studies from major OECD member countries were shared, including a presentation by the Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO) on Korea’s digital ID implementation.

The program brought together approximately 70 public officials from 23 central and local government agencies in Indonesia, with 10 experts from the OECD and member countries delivering policy expertise as lecturers. Participants expressed satisfaction with the program and indicated their intent to attend future courses, and the Public Management Policy Centre will review the feedback and recommendations raised during the sessions to consider them for upcoming capacity-building courses.
