Visit to the OECD Ankara Multilateral Tax Center

2011. 11. 22 ~ 25, OECD Ankara Tax Centre

□ The Tax Programme, OECD Korea Policy Centre visited the OECD Ankara Multilateral    Tax Center which is located in Ankara, capital city of Turkey from November 22 (Tue.)    to 25 (Fri.), 2011 to examine operation and management of the OECD Ankara Tax    Center and to discuss ways to expand cooperation.

□ The staff of the Tax Programme met Mrs. E. Basak Okuyucy, Head of the Ankara Tax Center, relevant officials, Mr. Ubaldo Gonzalez from the OECD HQ and seminar participants and had a meeting together with interviews.

Main Activities

□ The main activities which were carried out during the visit are as follows:

ㅇ Discussed about ways to develop Tax Centers and to build cooperation systems     and constitution of organization

ㅇ Participated in the seminar which was in progress and observed and collected information     on management systems and social events

ㅇ Discussed on cooperation ways between Korea and Turkey Tax Centers

ㅇ Observed current states of Turkey Center

ㅇ Simultaneous interpretation systems and participation of two or three Turkish tax officials     (often officials from the Ministry of Finance) as experts in other Tax Centers every year were     merits of the Ankara Tax Center which attracted attention of the Korea Tax Centre to improve     in the future.   ㅇ The Tax Programme will strengthen its existing advantages such as Introduction to Korean     culture and history and Social events and promote ways to cooperate continuously with     other Tax Centers located in Hungary, Austria and others based on cooperation with Ankara     Tax Center.
